Kickstarter Projects
« on: April 19, 2012, 06:40:57 pm »
This thread is for talking about various notable kickstarter projects you've come across that you think deserve some attention.

Has anyone else seen this project yet?

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/343838885/nekro

A top down randomly generated game in the same vein as games such as Dungeon Keeper and Diablo. Summon various monstrosities such as Punge to do your bidding. Wreck havoc, maim innocents that kind of thing.

I haven't funded on kickstarter before (although I joined around the time DFA was kicking up a fuss) but I'm feeling very interested in this game.....not to mention it feels like it needs more help. I hope RPS will post a news article about Nekro.

It has 14 days left, totalbiscuit posted a video about it and it got a huge surge of funders. It's still in an awkward place though....I'm holding out hope that it'll make it. It's almost at 40k now.

I have funded DFA.

This particular game kind of looks like an isometric Overlord. I liked Overlord, but this one doesn't really intrigue me.

The graphics style is decidedly W-o-Warcraftish.

Changed the title and made it more of a general kickstarter thread.

So Nekro managed to get it's funding. :) It's the only project I've backed and I really don't intend to end up like some people and be backing 10+ project in one month. Still there are many projects that look interesting.

I came across this one called Legend of the Time Star. It'll be reminiscent of snes RPGs and will be a 2d side scroller. The one in-game image they showed makes me think of Castlevania (except not as gothic)

Friendly advice: You should edit the topic title to "Kickstarter: Necro" or something similar. Right now it looks like it's a topic on kickstarters in general.

Lol, did you read the message right before yours?
But I agree with you, I think it's better to have separate threads than a single one.

See, that's what I get for posting after reading only the OP. *goes to hide in shame*

I figured having separate threads for every single kickstarter campaign would be a bit overkill.

I'll edit the first post to make it clearer.

Sorry guys, blow your mind with this Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/114022296/multi-platform-video-game-release
It's a real shame to see it's been cancelled now :(

I really hope your joking because that was the vaguest kickstarter project ever, I wouldn't fund it because it sounded like he had no clue of what he was doing. And "hints"?  Really?  You need to tell us what your doing with your project, not give us hints. More to the point, sounds more like a scam more than anything legitimate. If you can't tell me what your videogame is called, much less show pictures of it, how do you expect us to actually want to fund it?

Multi-platform games are a difficult prospect at the best of times.
