I'll never be able to remember that password
« on: July 06, 2011, 02:33:19 am »
I just know that next time I'm need to log in here I'll have no idea what my password is. I could live with the 8 character minimum but the need for uppercase is something I just won't remember. Hopefully there's a good way to get a password reminder.

Jot'em down, or use something like keepass or lastpass

I'd suggest using a real vault like Keepass. Firefox doesn't exactly secure your passwords in the best manner.

I second or third (or whatever it's up to now) KeePass.  All passwords that I don't have to manually enter on a regular basis are just unreasonably long completely random strings of letters/numbers/punctuation, and it doesn't matter, because I don't have to deal with it myself.  Even I don't know what my own password is for most things, other than a handful that I have to keep track of.  Heh.

Adding my support for using keepass. A few things it does better than Firefox is allow synchronization between computers, generate secure passwords, typing passwords in for you on applications (not just web browsers), just to name a few. I know a lot of people that have a few passwords that they remember, sometimes only one that they remember, and it's really just a lot safer to create real passwords for your personal information.
