AI war RTD
« on: July 08, 2011, 04:13:58 am »
I am not sure how many people agree to my proposition of a RTD, but I'll just gamble my luck off

Quote from: Introduction
The Resistance was Bloody, but the AI finally got pushed back, Humanity got it's Tech and managed to get enough Facilities and Assemblers together, while the AI has got that Blackhole, Humanity has got enough Skill to combat their numbers, causing a Permanent Checkmate, a Endless cycle of Blowing things up and getting blown up

Back then, before the Days of Artificially Controlled Ships and Starships, there were pilots, Four types of them, Civilian/Conscript, the lowest ranks and the lowest skilled ones, Standard, The Everyday Pilot, Veteran, the Skilled pilots of the Navy, and finally, the Legendary, Pilots of Legend and Perfect Skill

The Old Flesh-and-blood pilots were forgotten, only existing in stories and Folk-tales, Few knew about them, but they are already dead, fighting in the Initial AI Takeover

Until Now

On 254021XC, Stasis Pods were discovered, The Men inside wore a Uniform that was completely foreign to pretty much everyone, they were brought to the Homeworld Command Center, Debates and arguments rose on them, after about two months, a Decision was made : Release them, then let them live their former lives

But when they were released and told to go home, They refused, nor did they even knew what the AI were or what were happening

That Misunderstanding went on for 12 long hours, before somebody had the smart idea of looking at the Stasis's History, the men were Revealed : Legendary Pilots, Pilots with enough skill to possibly break this Endless Checkmate

After a Year of a Crash-course on recent events and a brief introduction to their new ships, they are once again ready to set out into space, which might probably be the Last War they are taking part in

Quote from: Starting Ships
Ships with -> are basically changes of the ship above it, Some ships ain't in AI War, so don't bother ranting about "THEY DON'T EXIST"

Fighter : Standard Fighter, Need i say much?
->Interceptor : Slightly better then the Fighter, they can fire Multiple Bursts of Lasers Each Turn, but unless you are shooting down The Ship Triangle or random spraying and hoping that you hit some important part of a larger ship, they're weak

Bomber : Anti-Frigate/Anti-Starship/Anti-Construction/Anti-Larger-ships, Bombers fire bombs that effectively take out large ships, but it's Wide-spread explosions are ineffective against smaller ships, well, i suppose you could damage several Tight-packed ships at once, but they are probably not going to be effective
->Lacerator Bomber : Bomber, but their bombs have tighter explosions and shaped in a way that their explosions are directed at where it is flying, basically shaped explosives, making them effective against smaller ships, but a real fail-fest against larger ships, 'cept for shooting out engines or their guns, but it can't damage the Ship itself much

Frigate : Classic Missile Shooting Ship that everyone knows and likes, mostly because it shoots rockets, their Missiles are effective against both Small Ships and Large Ships, but when it comes to multiple targets, you are better off igniting the missile in the barrel with your lighter, because it won't do anything much against them
->Schwam : the Schwam fires lots of smaller rockets capable of detonating anything that decides strength as one, It's weak against individual targets

Gatling Laser : Fires multiple Weak lasers in quick succession, they are good against small ships, It's horrid against anying bigger than that, thought
->Laser Cannon : Fires one Piercing Powerful laser, capable of going through multiple ships if lined up, and has that terrifying effect on hit ships, it's still powerful against smaller ships, but you're going to have to hit it before you can destroy it, which is it's main downfall against them, it annilihates Anything it hits

Assault Craft : Hey guys, lets take a Fighter, a Bomber, a Frigate, and what do we get? the assault Craft, it's versatile, having the all-out weaponry of the fighter, the plasma bombs of the Bomber, and the Rockets of the Frigate, only problem, except for the fighter's bullets, all the weapons are toned down, so you can't really fight to the maximum capacity with what the weapon can do, but theres a reason why there are multiple gun barrels and the ability to fire them in succession
->Lacerator Craft : Same as Assault craft, except the order is : Interceptor, Lacerator Bomber and Schwam

Drone Carrier : Lightly armed, Low amounts of armor and not-too-good Health, but their main weapon are those Drone factories that can create both Space combat drones and Ship/Construct Assault drone pods filled with explosives to detonate when inside their target ship, drones have limited battery time, Ship Assault Drone deployed by pods have even faster expiry time, oh, and by the way, the drones can be controlled....to a extent

All other ships found in the original, Zenith, and MON is also in, but you'll have to buy them to use them

Quote from: Specials
You have 5 Special Points, stronger specials cost more SP's

Extra Plating : Back then, them Scientists always wanted to make their ships more durable, nowadays, we've found out that you can do that....by just slapping another layer of Oxoclinate, a Light, tough Material(+25% Armor, 1 SP)

Husk Meld : When the armor gets shot off, it turns into a fight to get your Ship sticking together just enough to get to the nearest repairing object, a Meld-over will meld the shell together into one, continous Shell, which might just be enough to get to help before it falls apart(+25 Health, 1 SP)

Nitrogen Cannon : Most weapons only accept one or two types of ammunition, so constructors decided to build a addon-Cannon, a cannon that uses versitile-Vertigo Tech, which allows you to shove pretty much anything, from Oxoclinate Cans to Steel Nails, into the cannon and fire it, they might not look powerful, but when it's strong enough to knock the cannon off it's support and require it to be put back into place and zip the ammunition through space at 800MPH, you know it'll be deadly, unfortunately, it needs time for the ammo to Stabilize, thus, it's useless at Close range(+ NG Cannon, 2 SP)

Compressed Air Cannon : Compressed air in a can with a ignition trigger is deadly, so how about you convert it into a weapon? thus, the CAC was born, Using Compressed Air as Ammo, it fires the CA at powerful velocities, enough to rip apart most Small ships and cause decent damage to Larger ships, But while it can rip that ship infront of you a new one, it won't do anything at medium-to-long ranges, so save the air for close range(+CAC, 2 SP)

Automatic Miniturret : Of course, when it comes to AI, them Scientists will never leave you alone, atleast you had a miniturret for Assist Fire, Rite?(+Miniturret, 2 SP)

Hyperspace Warp : Teleportation and Blackholes were standard and everyday, but Scientists decide to Find out another method of Transportation, but they scientists making them were Grade -5 Scientists, also known as "Dumbarsed Scientists", but they still manage to do so, inventing hyperspace and how to use it to transport things to the other side(+HyperSpace Warp, 3 SP)

Unfortunately, i didn't have any more ideas for Specials, so gimme some ideas

Six players maximum, i don't want to clog up my schedule

I actually initially thought of putting players in charge of their own base and army, but i figured that when my speciality lies in individual players and not entire hordes of 'em
