I loved LA Noire, but not for any of the GTA aspects of it. The open world elements just distracted from the fun bits to me. Same with the car chases and shoot outs really.

I played it for the investigation and interrogation aspects - so essentially the parts I liked were a glorified point n' click or Telltale game.

I've completely loathed Rockstar ever since.  Granted, I hate lots of things, but they're on a special pedestal all their own.
I can't stand GTA either, but I really enjoyed L.A. Noire.

Yeah, a friend showed it to me for some baffling reason.

For the right type of player, it looks like it'd be good.  I have no real judgement on it myself.  To me, it's an insomnia cure.  Too much story stuff, which is to say that it has story stuff, and there arent even any explosions or axes or monsters or things.

I will give them though that they did finally do something that wasnt just selling on "controversial!!!" for once.  That's a good thing.
