Forum Question: Stars?

So yeah, I've wondered about this for a bit. What are the "Stars" that display above my avatar for? What exactly do the show? If it's a matter of displaying post count, that's already displayed under the avatar...I'm just curious to their function.

I think it's a visual representation of the post count. In human society it's not uncommon to see both a pictogram of a sort and words describing it. In fact most information signs has both words and pictures describing the same thing.

They're boxes on mine since I'm using the old layout, but yeah. Basically, the more posts you make, the higher rank you are, and the boxes (Stars) represent rank, to a degree.
