Ebola is completely overestimated, yes there is a high mortality rate but it is quite hard to catch it, when people hear of a disease spreading they assume it's airborne. But Ebola does not spread easily

That, and people also dont seem to realize that when they're talking about how horrible it is and that it's killing so many, they mean that it's killing so many specifically in regions that are areas in which the specific conditions mean that it *will* spread easily.   Which if I recall, seems to be centered in certain parts of Africa right now?  I could be wrong.

Western Africa, pretty much. I think it's spread [read: a few cases] as far as the Congo, but I'm not certain on that.
