E3 time!!!
« on: June 11, 2010, 08:12:30 pm »
The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2010, commonly known as E3 2010, will be the 16th Electronic Entertainment Expo held. The event is set to take place on June 14, 15, 16, and 17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. E3 is an annual trade show for the computer and video games industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). It is used by many video game developers to present their upcoming games and game-related hardware.

As gamers, surely some people would be extremely excited, what new thing are you most excited about (including features such as the natal or playstation move) You can also suggest things you're excited about the microsoft and sony own conference and blizcon if you want to suggest starcraft 2.

Big year in gaming, 3D and motion sensing is going do dominate E3 with the annual new games.

Personally, I'm most interested in what Nintendo might announce here or at the TGS.  I'd really love it if there was a Twilight Princess style of Zelda game for the holiday season this year.

The new hardware reveals will be my main interest, though certainly not averse to some attention grabbing games otherwise.  While never likely, some new Roguelikes coming stateside would be swell!   8)

In the longer term, I now always wonder what will come of each generation of things in terms of emulator/homebrew.  Will there be enough interest to tinker with the machine after the fact...will people even be able to figure it out in a reasonable amount of time?  The pace of technology and hobbyist wranglings has gotten so unpredictable I can't even hazard a guess---especially given the now large and primed to grow number of different hardware platforms out there on the portable end.
The Roguelike Guy...also hopefully an overall skilled developer as time rolls on.

I really hope the next iteration in hardware is not the whole "3D" thing (Like Avatar and that new DS)  :(

Ditto.  And I think that the new iteration of hardware doesn't need to come for a good little while.  Having extra capabilities is just going to make the AAA games even more expensive to create, and thus make for even fewer of them.  Of course, maybe that's a good thing for us indies, heh.

well, games are going to be more advanced eventually.  Of course, there is always going be the "standard gaming" for 2d gaming and motionless gaming too. of course the basic things will be updated from time to time making better resolution and controllers and mice and all.

Yeah, I really hope they don't leave me behind.

I have a certain eye condition that makes it so I only look through one of my eyes at a time. I cannot watch 3d movies or games without getting sick within 3-5 seconds. I live my normal life without depth perception.

standard gaming is never going to change as all the "basic" functions has been already established. This is different from the time of "ps2" cause you know, technology can only go so far.`.lppppppp

YOu got your wish, and i know you don't have time, but you should definetly pick a time even a few months later, WATCH THE PRESS CONFERENCE FOR ALL MAJOR PUBLISHERS, it was awesome . Just plain awesome. (microsoft, sony, nintendo, ea, ubisoft and such such.) the plain press conference was better than the games announced  cause of the experience.  watch it online.

Yeah, happy to see a new Zelda. And dkc returns was a super nice surprise. That and goldeneye were both old favorites of mine.

Ubisoft continued their total suckage, but nintendo delivered a TON of great stuff.

(thank you thank you thank you for the 3DS "ammount of 3D" slider. I will always have to turn it to off but at least I will be able to use the thing without throwing up.)
