Mhh DK2 runs fine for me on Vista x64 but only with modded drivers, for some reason these also made Crimson Skies not crash, but instead run slow as hell (or way too fast, in software)...

What we need is a true game machine emulator of the old days, Dos Box only emulates DOS to some extend and does not allow installation of Win 3.11 (which means all games of that time are unplayable, and theres NO emulator for it)

You can install W95/W98 in a VM but you won't get the needed gpu emulated. Most VM's use some weird as heck Rage (Ati) chip as Emulated GPU which didn't play 99% of the games back then.

Just saying ;) DK2 by itself also did not age well - i am stuck with 1024x768 res and the game is really ugly by todays standards... and nowadays you notice a lot of things lacking in the gameplay as well.

I've never been able to get DK2 running properly since windows ME... But it taunts me by letting me pay a couple of levels then hitting a crash it never gets past. DK1 on the other hand, seems to work fine whatever I throw it onto... So all is not lost.

I personally haven't played it but a friend of mine did and gave a very bad report. He said it would be better to play evil genius than this.

I'm probably buying it when my paycheck comes in. I'm a sucker for those kinds of games ::)

You could always download the demo, and from what i ve seen in the demo, its a stinker. Evil Genius comes to mind, just less fun, less polished

Evil Genius was not a bad game. I enjoyed it while it lasted.

I'd be interested to know what exactly is bad about Dungeons. It indeed seems like this game didn't turn out well, according to many many opinions in internet, I'm just wondering what the specifics is...

Mostly it's just less Dungeon Keeper and more Dungeons Tycoon.

I did. So far its ok, but its graphics programming is crappy I think. Its running rather slow and laggy even in low setting. Grated my laptop is not the best, buts it was top tier 3 years ago. Should be able to run this game well with it :)

So I will just copy my save to me new laptop once I get it and do some proper testing.

So far I do not yet have found a good way to manipulate heros as I really want to. But I managed to create a dead end room to room way for the heroes to boost them self so I could harvest them in my latest game. But over all I suck so far and get constant messages form my advisor that my dungeon is second rate.
