Stash by Frogdice

The Kickstarter for Stash is coming down to the wire: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/frogdice/stash-no-loot-left-behind-pc-mac-linux-consoles

Stash is a turn-based MMO RPG (but solo-able) with lots of personalization and customizable housing, which is looking to make a lot of changes to the default MMO formula (with the most obvious departure being turn-based combat). The game client will be free and available on PC, Mac and Linux, with Ouya support and consoles as well. It's not pay-to-win and has no arbitrary gating where you must pay to continue. Backing the Kickstarter gives you double your pledge in in-game premium currency in addition to other rewards.

I'm not really an MMO guy personally, but Frogdice are great indie devs and their other games (particularly Reignmaker) are great. They've been around for 20+ years and have a long-running MUD in addition to two previously successful Kickstarter campaigns (for the aforementioned match 3 combat with RPG and city building elements, Reignmaker, and Dr. Mario-like combat RPG Dungeon of Elements).

Some further details from their KS updates:
STASH: Not your typical MMO. We are re-imagining the genre.
Combat Overview: The Basics

(I hope this doesn't come across as astroturfing, I'm just a fan and backer. :))

I admit to not reading it.. but turn based MMO is a very old genre tbh.
Stuff like Tibia exists from quite some time - the part about soloable might be actually new.
I'll take a look.. one it's something more then Kickstarter. My experience with it is medicore... (PA I'm looking at you).

I scanned it and the immediate problem I saw was they didn't say where the funds are going. That is the #1 priority for me now if I'm going to back a project and that should have been on the top of the Kickstarter page. The complete lack of information on it is....unfortunate. Not that I would have backed it because I don't have the funds and I'm really gunshy of supporting additional projects right now but the more information, the better.

I have to say it does look interesting. Very interesting and the visuals are nice.
But hands down, when it comes to MMORPGs I return every time to Mabinogi after I tried something new. I bet it will be just the same with this game but if it got funded and will be released I might try it out.

Good point KingIsaacLinksr. However, these guys are established and have already run 2 successful Kickstarter campaigns and delivered the games on time or early, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there. But I agree, a breakdown of funds is important.
