You people saying the Indie scene is dying, I'm afraid I can't disagree more. I believe that the indie explosion has only begun.

Check out this game. I can't watch the trailer without getting chills *every time*.

Very awesome!

And I'm not sure that anyone is saying the indie scene is dying at all, it's just a matter of the bubble bursting, as happened with tech in the early 2000s.  That didn't mean that tech companies went away, but it did mean that buying a domain name and having something like petfood.com or whatever it was was no longer a business model.  But in fact that was just a sign of the market maturing and the best things came after the market bubble burst.

If you ask me, for consumers we'll be heading into a golden age of indie games that will last for quite a long while.  It's just the gold rush that is ending, that's all.

It's not dying, it's just getting flooded by cheapskate luckseekers revamping old ideas in a new skin and calling it innovating. Kind of like the AAA companies have been doing for years. Or Apple.

Dying?  Who says it's dying?

Coulda fooled me.

I've bought..... er..... some damn silly number of games in the past... month?  All of them indie titles.  A few of them not finished and in alpha/beta, the others finished.   All have been good.   And I buy things really frequently, so it's not been just over this month.   As it is I forget which ones they are.  Too many.

One being this game.  Had been waiting for it for ages.  And then BAMF!!! it shows up on Steam.  Bought it instantly along with the soundtrack I hadnt heard yet.

Both are even better than you'd think!  If you aint bought it yet, do so.  Though the game itself is very clearly unfinished.  Still listed as an alpha.   There's some strange things to be found here and there, and entire chunks of the game missing (area 4 doesnt yet exist, no word on if there's more than that either), lots of items and stuff unimplemented... you know how it goes.   Like with Nuclear Throne though this is just as polished as a finished title.

If you're gonna give it a go though, be prepared for it's difficulty.  You'll die.  Alot.  Over and over and over....

The game's opening when started up each time is what does that to me.  Too much epic, cannot handle....
