Is it not up? It says it's in open beta? Or do you mean you are waiting for beta to end?

Never heard of Wargame. And never played Company of Heroes. So neither, heh.

If either game was similar to the Close Combat series I would give it a look. I loved Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far.

They were supposed to launch last year.  They've just finished their fourth closed Beta while they finish some tweaks and apparently found a couple of major balance/gameplay issues, so they've delayed again.  Open Beta was supposed to have launched 2 weeks ago, until something in CB4 made them go back to the guts of the engine.
... and then we'll have cake.

Is Airland Battle a successor to Wargame: European Escalation? Because I certainly enjoyed that game.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Well that trailer definitely got me excited for Wargame, though I have never heard of it before either  :)
As for End of Nations, I didn't like what I've played of it. I just can't swallow the whole idea of persistent progression in a competitive RTS game.

Same.  The name of the game for RTS games is "even footing".  Take that away and you've ruined it for me.

Ah, that's a shame.  There's an older game based on the same philosophy called Shattered Galaxy.  I adored that game.  I have a feeling this one will eat me too.

I played Shattered Galaxy a lot as a kid.  It was a neat concept, but you were very reliant on your team, and, obviously, if people had played more than you, they have a huge advantage.  Still very cool, I just don't think I could go back with so many better options out there now.

I liked the "Faction Battles" of Shattered Galaxy, but it was a bit stupid that no side could ever "win".  It was just an endless, rather pointless fight.  I liked the Faction Battle aspect all the way back to the original Total Annihilation Galaxy Wars that most people don't even know about.  The idea of fighting an RTS land battle over galaxies is amazing, but no game has done it well enough so far.

I'm hoping that Planetary Annihilation fills that void for me.

Airland Battle looks great, but I'm wondering how much of a step up it will be from European Escalation. The maps certainly looks more interesting and the introduction of Jet fighters is nice, but I might not buy it at full price if it's not that big a difference.

I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Same here. I think RTS genre is beaten to the death now. I've spent countless hours in Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 1, and Command and Conquer. It all started with Dune of course. There is simply nothing to see any more until something new is invented.
