What you're doing is almost correct, try moving the mouse farther back. I'll get a video made in a min though.

Does this help? Dropbox link because the forums have max file size uploads. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10255119/001%20%2809%29.zip

I'm looking at your video and it seems like you're doing it right but it's not snapping for some reason. Try clicking the snap button off and on at the bottom left of the UI. (The arrow button). See if that gets it to cooperate. But there's nothing I can see that shouldn't let it work. Any mods installed?

Are you talking about this icon? Because clicking it doesn't do anything. It doesn't actually let me click it. I don't have any mods installed.

That icon should be clickable.....very very weird. Wonder if it has to do with your resolution.

Well now we are getting somewhere. What resolution do you recommend? If it doesn't work, I'm going to reinstall.

Uhh, well for me it works on my 16:10 (1680x1050) resolution so try one of those resolution scales.

I figured out how to use the blue button… Only the white outline is clickable. However, I still cannot snap roads together. I'm reinstalling. If someone else has an idea, let me know.

Have you tried clicking it while using a road tool?

Doesn't work. I just reinstalled, and I deleted that middle section of road and tried it from farther back. It said that using the upgrade tool, I could change the direction of the road I'm trying to connect to, but I couldn't get that to work either.

Good grief, I hope this gets easier. I really like playing with ant farms, and I would like some more time with this game to see where my city goes. If I'm having fun and not fighting with the tools, however.

Thanks for the advice all, and if anyone has any other road connecting tips, I'm happy to listen to them.

The reason you can't connect is because in your video you are not pointing at the road, you are pointing at the support underneath the road.. try moving your mouse pointer OVER THE actual ROAD you want to connect to, and not somewhere down-below ;) The "preview" road that is shown to you is just if you build right there, without connecting to a road. If you want to connect you have to click on the actual road surface!

This is actually how ALL road building in this game works. You are not supposed to "match up" the road model with supports, you are supposed to click on the road surface (if it's elevated or not) and draw from there.

And no, that blue icon is not supposed to be clickable (at least in that build mode your are in). Reversing the directions is done via upgrade and "drawing" in the direction you want the road to be.

You can use right click to reverse road direction while in upgrade mode.

I'd recommend checking after patch they released today. Elevated roads that were un-clickable are on bug fixes list.

So I have to say, I just had the weirdest issue ever with Skylines.. I played it with the new patch that adds European buildings and tunnels.. but it stuttered like nothing!

So I removed all mods and unsubbed all

It continued stuttering

I started with the cmd line arguments they list

It continued stuttering

I basically went insane there trying to find the cause, and you know what the problem was? Steam cloud! Steam cloud synced my modded savegames back and the game threw up whenever such a savegame was in the savefolder. If such a game was in the folder, game would stutter in a completely clean new game.

If that is not a wtf kind of issue, I don't know. Either way, it's worth nothing that "delete local contents" does NOT actually delete local game contents like.. uh, cloud synced saves in the save folder.. wtf steam!
