The Ominous Countdown on Gaslamp's homepage finally counted down to reveal the Dungeons of Dredmor team's next offering: Clockwork Empires. Go have a look-see:

Well, the Bay12 forums (myself included) are quite rather excited about this, and there wasn't a thread about it, so here one is. Not really much else to say about it yet not already mentioned in both articles, so have a picture.

You know, I just noticed the tags in the bottom of the gaslamp post. I might go see the rest of their mostly dredmor-based posts just to see what other tags they've made.

It does look like it'll be fairly cool.

It won't be coming out until late 2013 at the earliest though, so I wouldn't get too excited too early.

Well sometimes even cool ingredients result in a crappy game, remember, for example what Spore promised to be and how that turned out... Let's hope that if they pulled off Dungeons of Dredmor, they'll be able to make another great title.

I know this is a bit of a necro, but www.gaslampgames.com has a few blog updates about clockwork empires.

I was also posting here to mention another DF-style game that looks very interesting called "Prison Architect" being made by introversion. They openly cite DF as a big influence on the game. It's in alpha right now at the somewhat outrageous price of $30 - I believe they'll lower the price come full release and there are tiered payments similar to kickstarter.  I won't be doing the alpha funding, but I'll keep this one on my radar and it seems like the type of game a few people here might like.

This seriously looks like it's going to be amazing. Did anyone post David's long design post from the gaslamp blog?

Another blog from gaslamp games went up. Basically a ficitionalized accounting of how a game would play with some explanation of the mechanics that match it. Very cool.
