Sanctum and Atom Zombie Smasher are both quality games.  I know next to nothing about the other two in there that aren't ours.  I apparently own a copy of Superbrothers, probably due to some humble bundle or other.
Have ideas or bug reports for one of our games? Mantis for Suggestions and Bug Reports. Thanks for helping to make our games better!

Superbrothers is... interesting. I wouldn't call it a game so much as an experience. It was certainly amusing and worth playing though. I stopped at a point based on the moon phases and didn't feel like cheating to get past it though.

Oh yeah, all the other games in there are great, I just own them all already. Anyone who was getting at least 2 or 3 new games out of that, I would say go for it. It's a fantastic deal. I'm just debating going for it on the merits of only getting one game that I'm not terribly interested in, and getting AVWW, which I obviously already have, on Steam without waiting for however many more months it's going to take Valve to get their act together.

Yeah, that's what I did in the end. I'm not a HUGE fan of AVWW, even though I play it now and then, but it felt like a reasonable reason to throw more money at Arcen to get it on Steam too.

It was in the most recent HIB.

Probably, but 50% off is good enough for me.

I know it's wrong to say I told you so. I'm apologizing in advance.

The X Superbox is now on sale for $10. If you like space sims, open worlds, heavily modable games, and can handle a less than stellar UI (Dwarf Fortress fans will find it comparatively easy), then it is one of the best deals I have ever seen.

Yes, that is SIX games for $10. A steal if there ever was one.

I will inject the caveat that the X games are basically the same game over and over with new features. There is literally no reason to buy anything but X3. Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude are the only things that don't quite fit the rule. They are still basically the same game, but while AP does improve trading a bit, it also adds a lot more fighting in the galaxy, so new players can get creamed more easily. (This is from what I understand from researching the game, my actual playtime in the game is abysmal) Of the two I would suggest a new player stick with TC for now and if you decide that you love it so much that you need a slightly different version of it, pick up AP at the holiday sales. But don't buy an X game without a 3 after it . It's basically like paying for version 1.0 of a game when version 5.0 is also on offer.

I really can't buy any more games, regardless of how cheap they might be! I've a multiplatform backlog now numbering in the hundreds of games and thousands of hours. For illustrative purposes (representative of my Wii, Xbox 360 and mobile gaming situation): http://lambentstew.com/webblog/miniproject/steamanalysis?profileid=76561197998416422.

I saw Indie Game The Movie, which I picked up during the sale. An enjoyable flick. The plight of the new developers was a scarily close reminder of my time in grad school  :D

Front page is a bit meh today....I heard Rage was pretty bad and the rest are a bunch of war-time FPS shooters. Also, Dear Esther didn't interest me at all...

Metro 2033 is a good one if you don't have it yet. It's not really a shoot everything shooter. It's more about the story and the atmosphere. And it is jam packed with good old fashioned Russian gloom and depression.

Hmm, does it come with a demo? I can't see from my tablet ATM.

Nope, no demo unfortunately. It's kind of like a non-open world STALKER, if that means anything to you. I'd say it's worth it for 5 bucks, but it depends how much you like some shooting, some stealth, some creepy, and a whole lot of Russian.
