As we all know, supreme commander 2 cameout and took one of our loyal commons heart RCIX

We also know that RUSE  and starcraft 2 will come out,  so we probably may be crazy about it, any thoughts?

Although I'm not as regular as I used to be due to uni, I still keep tabs on development. I'm lucky that I don't have a rig capable of actually playing RUSE or Starcraft 2. I'm not sure RUSE and Starcraft 2 will pull too many people away though.

Playing through Starcraft 1 again recently, I simply can't get into the micro heavy too-many-things-at-once gameplay. I remember why I stopped playing the last time, and it's simply because I prefer long term thought out strategic gameplay where I can stop and stroke my chin and plot out my next move. General consensus is that it's pretty much Starcraft 1 with some spit and polish and to be honest, I think the Starcraft RTS mould is getting a little stale. Games like Dawn of War, SoaSE, AI War, World in Conflict have provided far more enjoyable RTS models where you're limited by your strategic ability, not how fast you can click your mouse.

Despite solid gameplay, the problem with RUSE is that it's coming from Ubisoft, and I don't think I need to mention any more than that.

However, yesterday I found out that Sins of a Solar Empire has lower requirements than I thought, so that may drag me away when I get the cash for it. :P

I would say go for Sins of a Solar Empire--runs "OKAY" on a 240GT (slightly below 9600GT) and a Smithfield (i820 2.8x2).

I'm more of an open-palmed person when it comes to gaming, despite my somewhat competitive background in FPS gaming, where I know most people in my area don't head off into casual gaming.  I enjoy Starcraft 1 because I will micro and macro if I really wanted to [but I'm not], but I also enjoy a casual game of AI War and SoaSE.

SupCom 1/FA was the sweet spot for me, where I could have both competitive and casual elements to it.

I wouldn't know anything about RUSE--heard some bad things but I'm not biased.  Though isn't that for consoles?
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

What do you mean "okay"? I've got a laptop with a Core 2 Duo and a 9600M and it runs maxed on large games no problem. Do you have any RAM? That game allocates memory kind of funny.
