Summary
- Aya Shameimaru as one of the main characters,
- 108 Spell Cards total
- New music, only seven tracks
- Based on newer game engine (MoF+)
- The usual difficulty, ie. lunatic
- Some replay value
- Lower scene requirements for next level than the original Shoot the Bullet; two for each to advance to next level or X in total
- New camera features, press X to change from landscape to portrait, and shots can slant now
- Features characters mainly from MoF and on forth
- Beautiful patterns as usual

NOT recommended for those who aren't familiar with shoot 'em ups (SHMUPS) or TOUHOU in general:  this is a very difficult game.  However, it has the same charm that sets itself apart from most SHMUPS, ie. bullet patterns and story/character appeal; of course, the camera mechanic in Shoot the Bullet is exclusive to these types of games.

This game was released on March 14 and is one amongst a long-living series.  If you're interested in TOUHOU, feel free to ask me more about it, and any information on where to try these games.

How's it compare to UFO or Sub Anim?

I'll give it a try when I have a chance.  I hope it doesn't have a disappointing Extra like Sub Anim did (compared to Final).

The game is obviously based on Shoot the Bullet, and some view it as harder (though some say easier in some terms) than the original.

Difficulty-wise, it isn't hard because you get to repeat the spellcards very quickly, unlike UFO/SA where you don't have nearly as many consecutive attempts.


I would give it a try, though only stages 9 and beyond will give you a challenge if you 1CC hard.  (;

Hehe, Touhou, my other addiction.  

I actually like Shoot the Bullet and Double Spoiler as a change of pace because they are still Touhou but not the same as the core games.

I'm working on 1cc'ing ESOD on normal at the moment, getting halfway through Remilia's last spellcard is my best at the moment.

That reminds me, I think I have enough posts for an avatar now.....
