New trailer.

SO HYPE!

In terms of the pure game play aspect, I think the trailer nails it perfect. Hits all the advertising holes.

My only question is how the single player aspect will be. I already expressed here how dearly I liked the cutscenes from C&C. Not a deal-breaker to not get them of course, but there are game-play elements as well. I REALLY liked in the C&C generals expansion the three factions got three "flavors" in addition to vanhilla and these were balanced yet unique. To see something similar with AI's that take advantage would be marvelous. Or even just as Supreme Commander did and have AI fleshed out AI personalities that pursue different strategies that all seem balanced will be great as well.
Life is short. Have fun.

Quite a tease. An experienced, well rounded force that is inflexible. A difficult choice, as it should be.

It looks like the same game with a new coat of paint. And science fiction or something? Pass.  ::)

Really interesting city capture / prisoner of war mechanic. I'm excited to see how it plays out!

Is there any release date planned for this? Looks like an RTS I could stand getting into.

September 2nd. Buy now and you get instant access to the multiplayer beta. I haven't tried it yet myself but I'll let keep this thread updated when I do.

Don't make me get on my "don't preorder ever" soapbox, ok? ;)

Generally I would agree, but in certain cases, when a company is very good and very reliable, like Arcen, it's worth it just to support them and help them develop the game/find bugs, etc.

Eugen has proven itself again and again. I would not hesitate to do so in this particular case, even though I generally share your sentiment.

Many people are saying this resembles the "NOD" faction

If it has Obelisks of Light, I'm sold.

I saw stealth and lasers but no obelisks.

It's good to see developers sticking with their games and making core changes when their original release was less than stellar. Interested to see how this pans out.
