http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/01/28/command-conquer-calculate-act-of-aggression/This actually looks to have a lot in common with Grey Goo, though I guess if both of them are aiming for the C&C Roots, it would.
For example, 3 unique factions, harvester "supply lines", and instead of relying on the old "tiberium fields", both games have now resorted to the new "resource points" style, which forces players to aggressively expand and defend their forward territory instead of hunkering down at the starting position.
Apparently AoA will have "banks" as well, which can only be captured by infantry, effectively another resource to the game and forcing city-type engagements into the mix. Apparently there are several more resources in this game than Grey Goo's one, so in that sense it may be significantly more complicated and/or fun. One definite advantage is that, with Eugen being the developer, we know the graphics will be beautiful.
Anyway, I'm excited to try both of them (maybe I'll get them at the same time). AoA releases this Spring.
