[Unity] Shader Forge on sale
« on: April 07, 2014, 12:39:10 pm »
Thought I'd highlight today's asset store deal (for those people who are not getting the asset store newsletter).

And a ton of info at their website, too

It's a node-based shader plugin.  I'm eying it myself right now, as at $40 this would be quite a steal.  With node based systems you can get a sense of what each node is doing with its inputs and how each one is effecting the end result:

Several of the most powerful editors I've worked with have used node-based systems, NUKE (compositing), 3D Studio's material system (technically node based, although the GUI doesn't look like it), one of the X3D editors (dead language, it just doesn't know it, shame the editor itself wasn't stable)  and shader editing is one of the areas that I'm weak in, so this would be really helpful.

Hopefully I can get my boss to pay for it. ;)
