How did this affect our other games?  Not much, I don't think.  Maybe a tad.  During the launch discount period of TLF our sales of our other games went up substantially without them being on discount.  But during the flash sale that is not the case that I noticed.  I think people are waiting to see if they go on flash sale, perhaps.  Or at any rate they are not digging into the publisher info as much, perhaps.
The standard rule for surviving a Steam sales is to not buy a game unless at least one of the following is true:
1) It's a Daily, Flash or Vote deal (you're unlikely to see a higher discount than that)
2) It's the last day of the sale (you likely won't see a better discount until the next big sale)
Or if you really want a certain game now
3) It's 75% or more off (if a game is discounted this much without being a Daily, Flash or Vote deal, it's unlikely to be in one of those as well)

At least that's the way people have been talking about the seasonal sales for the last few years.

I'll also point out http://isthereanydeal.com

It integrates with your steam accounnnt and will notify you if any game on it goes on sale on ANY website. It also tells you its entire sales history for every site it tracks.  Also more reliable than steam's notification.

Nifty site!  I've never seen that before.
Have ideas or bug reports for one of our games?  Mantis for Suggestions and Bug Reports. Thanks for helping to make our games better!

Nifty site!  I've never seen that before.

I got pointed at it recently and was able to pick up three games at extreme discounts.  I can recall two off the top of my head:
Binary Domain (paid ~$3)
Enclave (paid 94 cents yesterday)

Enclave was on sale on Steam but Steam failed to notify me.

There've been a few others I've passed on, just because it was "eh, it's an average deal and not super interested in it right now."  For example, I was talking with a friend about Lichdom Battlemage.  It's a great idea of allowing customization of spells and it's a FPS utilizing the spells you create.

But it's not even worth a dollar.

Because:
  • You can only have one spell at a time
  • Spell design components are pretty much identical
  • Damage is so pitiful that if you get swarmed you're just going to die
Reviews indicate that it was a better game during Beta than post-1.0, which is sad.  But I have it on my wishlist and if it pops up on sale for under a buck I'd grab it.  But it hasn't been discounted that far yet.

TB did a WTF is of it, that seems to have three points that I remember:
1. The interface looks nice but is vague and has similar issues as the unmodded skyrim ui does with having to scroll large lists.
2. You can have three sigils (and a few spells of those sigils each, it looked like?), but there are more than 3 available and switching out sigils has a penalty not worth it just for experimenting.
3. Game looks like a cryengine game certainly, but fighting bosses with only one shield of three because you didn't find any orbs to return a broken shield ranges from hard to impossible.
