This looks a lot like the flagships from AI War...
Coincidence?
-
I downloaded the demo - there are several other art assets being used.
I have issues with this, I hope Arcen sees this post soon.
-
Arcen used a lot of public domain or otherwise freely-available assets in AI War. For example, raid starships were used in the old game Tyrian--and those assets are publicly available. 95% likely that this other game took from the same asset archive, so chill.
-
Yeah, a ton of AI War's original assets were from public domain collections. In fact, AI War itself was accused of asset theft at least once that I know of, but it's all a-okay.
-
I did not know that the assets were public domain.
I just was a bit confused seeing so many things, since this is a relatively recent appearance on my games-radar.
-
Yeah, art is generally like...20-30%? of Arcen games' budget, and public domain stuff can save a looooot of capital.
So, see it as a company trying to get on its feet, and enjoy that it's not too bad of art!

And over here (http://christophermpark.blogspot.com/2009/10/free-graphics-for-indie-developers.html) you can get the assets for yourself.
