Activision launches indie game competition

I would never trust a competition where you are competing against design docs. Some dark part of me believes that they just randomly pull up a winner, look for the best concept themselves and monetarize that without giving the guy who wrote it any credit (of course, they take their time.. 12 or 24 months before doing so). After all, this is Activision and when push comes to shove, they have a hundred lawyers in their law department.

Of course, thats mere speculation and might not be what they will do. But for some reason thats the first thing that came to mind when i read this.

It'd be great if they did that, and then just before they reveal their great new concept an indie developer releases a game based on the same concept (since they came up with it), and it's better than what Activision has been working on in secret.

Didn't say it would happen, just that it would be cool.
