: Question about the mission art
: PattyG September 19, 2013, 12:52:08 AM
First off let me say this game is amazing, I can't get enough of it. Keep up the great work guys.

The main problem I have when playing, is the fact that although there are a large number of mission types, they all essentially feel the same because every one of the levels uses the same tilesets. I am wondering if there will be more tilesets created for each mission type within the game before the beta ends, if that might come latter on after release or if there are no plans to create more tilesets at the moment.

All of the art for the game is complete at this stage, sorry.  We do have a goodly number of different backgrounds, but there is only so different we can go without it overwhelming the foreground.  In the past we had a lot more extreme of differences, but we've whittled that number down in order to emphasize clarity and quality over quantity (for once, heh).  Hope that makes sense!

Just curious: would there be any point in specifying which mission types get which floor types?

It would let us have even less variety, I suppose. ;)

I meant making the variety we do have be more apparent than it was to the OP :)  But yea, doesn't sound like it would really help much in the end.

Right now there's a much higher chance of seeing a variety of art even if you play lots of the same missions in a row -- and some players entirely avoid certain mission types, along with some mission types being less frequent, etc.  Hence the nature of my comment, anyhow.
