Title: My random suggestions
Post by: Jaunt on October 18, 2013, 03:21:06 AM
I have a whole lot of thoughts on the design of expert in general, the way in which bots scale, and the spiky nature of it all. I also know there's a mantis. This post addresses neither thing. Instead, just two quick suggestions:

1. Include party icons on the customization screen. When I have 4 of the same exo, I want to lock them into a brain picture based on how they're specced. What I mean is I can remember my grenade launcher assault is number 1, my rifle assault is number 2, et cetera. I'm not so good at thinking "okay, this bot I'm looking at now has the tank gear, and I want to look at the grenade launcher one, that means I can either go one forward or three backward". Without the picture, I am lost.

2. How about assassination missions no longer ever begin with zero bosses? It just makes sense. You never beat an Armory mission and get zero weapons. You never get zero enemies in a Lion's Den (unless you somehow empty the entire enemy army...hmm).

3. Not really a suggestion, but I think I saw one of my own turrets drop a small loot container. Someone may want to look into that. I'll update if it happens again to confirm it.

I'll probably write some longer thoughts later, but also just want to say great game, I'm having quite a bit of fun with it. The hairpulling kind. The best kind.

Number 2 is probably a bug.   It shouldnt be giving you zero bosses unless there actually are zero bosses in the army list.

3: I had that happen once as well,  I tried replicating (by droping tonnes of turrets and plasma cannoning them) but it only happened the one time, so at the very least it is very rare.

Yeah, it just happened to me again. That's probably unintended.
