I Find I'm Playing This All The Time...

And not to dissuade from your other titles, but I find I'm living longer and enjoying the 'strategy' feel of things more (it reminds me a lot like figuring out chess moves) than the searching for things in Valley, or the chaos in SC, though i love SC, i rarely can get control long enough to feel like I'm making any headway.
Anyway, I just wanted to say i am having the time of my life, and that this is really great! And i am hoping you have got some plans for an expansion.

p.s.  and having to use different kinds of strategies for different kinds of missions is very cool!  I just went into my first mission with all these EMP bots all over the place and at first i was like oh no, i got no weapons now, but i was using that explody thing that Keith mentioned, the overburned, or overturned, or something like that, anyway, it worked great, and i wound up winning the mission. So it was very very cool!

Oh, I think you'll find it worth the wait, definitely.  This one is coming along superbly, it is.



That brings up something I'd meant to ask about though:  Is the game able to be pre-ordered yet?  Do I even need to do that, or do I already have a copy since I'm running the alpha here?  And I'm curious as to what the price will be.

At this point we are thinking we are not going to do a public beta, we will just stay in a private group until we launch.  Getting LPers and reviewers involved earlier than launch is definitely what we are doing, too, though.  Our thinking is that a little anticipation never hurt anyone, and in fact is a big help to launch sales.

For the price on launch, that hasn't been announced yet formally, but it is highly likely to be $9.99.

This is definitely looking to be the best Arcen game I've played (haven't played AIwar or Tidalis yet). SC, SH, and the Valley series I could only give 6 to 7 out of 10. This looks like an 8 to me, though -- for what that's worth!

I find it interesting that your games seem to be improving in the overall presentation and especially art design. SC was a small notch above and this game has continued that progression.  Most of the artwork is either good or great aside from the player portraits which you might get a bit of flak for on tinternetz. The overworld map looks very nice, dungeons ditto.

The sound design seems like it should be better than previous games, too, (once fully complete) which has always been a little weak -- note, I just mean sound effects, Pablo's music has always been good. The ambient noises enhance the experience and the robot voices are most humorous.

Overall, very impressed with how this game is coming together and how Arcen seem to be improving as a company.

Still having a great time with this title. In fact, it's the only one I've been launching lately. Need to get back to AI, missing it, but this one is so much fun, too!


I'm so excited to see how this launches. Going to get another awesome title, probably treated with the same TLC as your other titles, and more ai war. Good time to be an arcen gamer.
