I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday. The room even looked the same. I got down simply by crouching once and pressing forward. My character slid through the "crack" without any issues what so ever. Impossible to get back out though. I had to use an elusion scroll.

Using the miniature spell on yourself or changing into a bat are the only ways to get through that hole. Or, if you have an Elusion Scroll, that will do it as well. Absent all of those, you'll probably have to abandon the character.

thanks for the tips dudes, but i have no miniature or bat spell.
i killed my char and create a new.

If you build a 2 high stack of crates all the way from the opening to where there is head room, you can kinda crouch-walk by holding right and crouching/standing repeatedly. Might take a minute, but you'll get out.

Killing yourself is quite direct though :)
