Problems updating for Mac Steam users seems to be a problem for Arcen, each game subforum should have a stickied thread on how to solve the problem.

The format of that file is intended for AVWW to read, and not your browser. That's why you get that formating "error" when clicked on. It is a way to find the links to the update zips.

You will have to copy/paste the links to get the files.

I'm sure Arcen will get to the bottom of the auto-update issue, but in the meantime, this is a workaround.

Can someone confirm you only need to download the 'latest' update from http://avww.s3.amazonaws.com/AVWWUpdatesList.xml to get ALL the new stuff from previous updates (so if I'm on 1.000 and download the 1.018 update then I get everything included in every update between 1.0000 and 1.018 and not JUST the new things included in 1.018).

Shit I think I just got the answer to that. Come across a 'file doesn't exist' when playing and n enemy was a big pink box.

The updates need to go in order. Get all of the updates from your current version to the latest in order to update. Make sure to install the updates in order as well. If you make a mistake just redo all of the updates in order. No need to reinstall.

Sometimes you will see "gaps" in the updates. That means later patches fully replace all their files. So you need all of them, and I believe they need to be applied in order.
