i second the motion of the second file, and pardon the intrusion of anothers tech sup thread, its subtle and not as intrusive. It reminds me a bit of a switch being flicked when you hold your ear up close to the box, as its charged

It's actually the sound of a small lighter being lit :) I just messed with the EQ and speed some. Well, that's two votes for number 2.

I'll wait for the 3rd input, and then we'll roll with that one!

I definitely don't like #1 -- way too harsh.

Remember that there are really two sound effects we're going for here: one for the mouse click, and one for the "tab change" sound effect.  I think that #5 could be perfect for the tab change one, honestly.

The others are okay, but don't really sound right to me.  I'd go with #5 for tab change, and then see if you can do something similar that is a little less sharp for the main click sound that people will hear over and over and over again.  I really like how these almost sound like water drops rather than some mechanical thing.

Speaking of which, another sound effect that gets played a lot and which a lot of people really dislike is the item pickup sound effect.  I'm thinking that click #4 could actually work well for that.  It's a bit abstract, but it's fast and non-piercing and would convey the idea well enough it seems like.

Thoughts?

You know, I think I agree with this. #5 for tab changing. A less sharp variation for main mouse click. And #4 for item pickup.

I was actually going to comment on the item pickup sound, but since I am unable to hear #4 and #5, I'll second your decision for the tab changes/item pickup.

I actually think what you need with a click sound is something richer, with a bit more resonance - but that might just be me!

I vote for the mouse click sound to be the same as firing cleft smoglette. :V

Wub wub wub!

I lump my votes with the current majority, in all honestly.

My apologies for being absent for so long. Real life tends to be a cruel ***** sometimes.

I'm blown away by the amount of content that has changed since I was able to play last; I feel like starting a new world is the only viable option here.

And I must extend my deepest gratitude to Chris for listening to my nonsensical rants about something as minor as a mouse click sound and working to alter the sound to something everyone enjoys and also I cannot thank Vega enough for taking the time to add new sound effects to replace the troublesome noise(s). I know something like changing a sound isn't as easy as one might think, so thanks again for the work you guys are putting into your game. It definitely shows.
