Error after a blackout
« on: December 14, 2013, 08:59:55 am »
So the lights just went off in my house when i was playing, after a restart the game told me to delete a lock file, so i did. But when i try to load my world the game demands me to report the error .txt, so i have it right here, i spent just three hours in the game so i dont mind if i have to create a new world, but it will be nice if there is a way to solve this. Thanks in advance!

Note: i have the steam version.

Unfortunately it looks like it was right in the middle of a save when you had the blackout, which is seriously very bad luck -- it doesn't save constantly or anything, so it was just really bad timing.  Since it was in the middle of the save, it looks like it wrote half the file and then the computer shut off right in the middle.  Kind of that "don't turn off the system while saving" thing that the consoles always harp on about since 1980. ;)

That said, if you've been using the backup feature, then under the RuntimeData folder inside your game folder, you should have something from your world that is more recent than just starting completely over.

Hope that helps, and sorry about the bad luck there!

Well... that was unfortunate.

Using the latest backup i just lost about an hour of gameplay, a lot of my coolest spells are gone... but i can live with that. Thanks for the quick support!, this game is really addictive i have to say.

Glad at least you had a backup at all, at least.  And glad you're enjoying the game so well! :)
