Zenith Trader bugged?

Hi,

I've activated the Zenith Trader in my game.
When it finally visited my systems I bought some stuff of it (or even all to test it).

However the AI responds in buying everything from the trader with each visit, pumping up the system strength dramatically - is this wanted?
The trader flew some rounds, visiting each of those pumped system several times, and each time the AI pumped up the strength by more than 100.

How am I supposed to breach through this? My Ark was dead before I had even opened the system...

Update:
The Tamed Macrophage is able to kill 2-3 Mass Drivers with each visit (then it needs to be repaired), however the system got pumped up some more in the meantime:

This is known and fixed in the next update (which is a pretty big one so it's a bit off still).
