Will Linux support persist?
« on: December 14, 2016, 02:07:51 pm »
So, AI War Classic supports Linux(which is my main operating system). I am just opening this thread to ask whether it still remins in the sequel. I read something about using C# in II(although I don't know about the original one), so I am a bit concerned. Will the next game be as cross platform as it was?

Or maybe actually C# doesn't mean windows-only, and I am just paranoid.

Of course it will persist!

And C# means Mono in this case, which is cross-platform.  We're using the Unity engine (have been since 2010), and that's in fact how we got linux support in the first place.  Prior to that I had been coding it in direct .NET and thus we were locked to windows.  The switch to Unity opened up first the mac, then linux, years ago. :)
