Can't help but think this:
Pretty much.

The budget included (hoped for) more sales, thats a budget problem.
Huh?  Assuming RR, not having enough support from the gaming community to continue development was why that game stopped where it did.  The game wasn't picking up so it was dropped as to not waste money there.

So needing 3 songs instead of 2 is a budget problem, but taking 1 year longer for development is not?! So developer are not part of the budget only musicians?
Don't move the goalposts.  You asked for an example and that was an example.

Starward Rogue went 1.0.  It's even being worked on right now, albeit by volunteers.  :)

Grabing every straw arent you?^^
Polystyrene tubes are not being grasped.  1.0 game budgets aren't Arcen's overall budget (a portion of that).  It's pretty much different pools that get pulled from.
For what it's worth, I don't think there's a real issue by having it be $299,400, I just thought it was odd (i.e. not rounding up to the next nearest "big" number).

Well it can get an issue, if more people like me get annoyed by that fact though, but yeah most likely other issues are worse.

Being OCD about it is ok.  Sitting here telling folks that have been here long enough to know or have worked on the last 3 games what they know is false is not.  The issues with previous games caused larger issues for Arcen as a whole, not the individual games.

This thread moves faster than I can reasonably provide responses :D

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

Yes the 600$ do not make a difference, thats exactly why it annoys me that they say "we dont need this extra 600$ since we are so smart at planning".
Ok, so the real reason is that the AI zeroes in on the minds it thinks might be a threat, and finds a way to preoccupy them with something silly like "why is that number not round?"

For another example, see https://xkcd.com/356/

Generally speaking, it's very successful. Vastly more efficient than the usual evil-overlord techniques for neutralizing a potential protagonist.

You will have to resist, if you intend to survive!

Yea, for you malcontents it just uses the brute force approach. Regrettably, a bug prevents it from doing proper feedback analysis in that case.

"What happened to all those motherships? Oh well, send a few dozen more than we did last time."
