How do Drones Work?

Are drones literally uncontrollable? They seem to do what they want -- even if I tell their flagship to attack something, the drones don't seem to care. And I can't seem to give them orders individually. Is that expected, or am I doing something wrong?

I think that's how they are supposed to work. Maybe you can change it in one of the xml files. I think that's the main difference between drones and strike craft.

This is probably a bug then: Deathgrip Tackle Drones are controllable.
