Saving custom starts

When starting a custom game I'm often forgetting to change one thing like the color of an AI or something and I have to reconfigure the game entirely...

Is it possible to save custom game configuration ?

If yes, how ?

If not, could it be ?

This is defintely a thing people want. I don't remember if there's a mantis ticket or not, but if there isn't you might make one.
