Please share your well wishes for Cinth on his recovery.
« on: March 13, 2017, 04:05:20 pm »
Hey everybody,

Folks tend to value their privacy, but there's not going to be any avoiding the fact that you probably won't be seeing Cinth around at all for a few weeks or months (right now it's uncertain).  He suffered a major medical emergency over the weekend, and is still in the hospital at the moment.  It was life threatening there for a while, but now things are looking more positive.

I have no clue what the future holds or when he'll be back, but I hope he will be, and at the moment it looks like he likely will be.

It's not my place to share anything more than that, but I wanted folks to know at least something so it isn't like he just dropped off the face of the planet for a while without a word.  He's definitely going to be missed personally and professionally on our staff, and I and some of the others will pick up his work while he's out.  I don't think that will impact our release date for Early Access, but we'll see; I was not planning on personally being fulltime all the way to early access, so that gives me some wiggle room with regard to my schedule on this project, which is good.

Cheers,
Chris

It would be a shame if the AI lost one of its minions. I hope Cinth gets better soon!

I'm sure any decent person would understand if you had to push the release date back after something like this. You guys are only human after all :) Speedy recoveries to Cinth!

Indeed, but we try to plan to have some buffer time in there in case things happen.  So far so good on that front, but we're not without our knocks aside from this.

I really hope you get better soon Cinth! AIW2 won't be nearly as good without you. That being said, health obviously comes first; we'll hold the AI off until you're back in top fighting shape!  :D

 :)

Thanks all.  The short of it was I was on life support last Saturday.  I'm doing a bit better now and will likely be around at least on the forums for now.
