One of the glorious things about not being an admin, moderator, or otherwise being affiliated with Arcen is that I can get around a number of rules about "no company supported assistance" regarding various forums. I hope to maintain that arms length.

That said, for those of us who want to make this game continue we need to spread the word in our own way. None of my friends or family even have a gaming PC so I can't go that route. So I went here:

This site is huge and this post still on the front page. This page I know gets tens of thousands of hits. I have never posted on this site till yesterday. Making an account took 2 minutes. They did not even require me to validate my email before I voted!

If nothing else, make an account and upvote the thread. Keep it on the front page. The advertising is amazing. If you want to post: Great! Meet new people.


Also, for those who know other threads like this please post them here. Arcen as a company cannot post in these threads directly so it up to us to do it for them. I will post in all of them myself, just hit me up here!

To avoid being abused by companies looking for cheap marketing, some forums ban people they know have been asked to do e-marketing.

In the analogous practice of companies paying people to write good reviews, it's called astroturfing. (As opposed to our situation, which would be artificially good previews.)

It's a significant problem for any user opinion aggregator, including reddit. There are legal companies which employ staff to endlessly create & manage multiple accounts, leave feedback, upvote/downvote competitors, etc.

Oh, I think I get it, kinda.  Same sort of reason as to why I cant do something like review Starward or bring it up too much in other places, since it'd end up pretty much looking like that sort of thing.

And it's true, that's a pretty nasty practice when it happens.  I hate when companies do that.  It doesn't exactly say much good about their product...

Good thing it's not something Arcen has to worry about in any way.
