Kickstarter doesn't do Paypal.  We'll let you know when we manage to open up a slacker backer option! In the meantime, keep in touch!

As soon as I read the mail, I pledged.

My target $300 pledge was already limited (and $250 is nearly) and there is already a 5-pages long thread on the forum.

How late are you up in your timezone? Check back before you go to bed, we're launching a new tier. Bit pricier, but xeno-archaeology is never cheap.

Good to know that you are thinking about this. I'm also "paypal-only" and I will wait until then. I tried looking into prepaid credit cards but I have zero experiences wit these and I don't want to do anything wrong that will end me up with a debt.

Don't make it too expensive: I need some of those backers to pledge up so I can pledge up. It is a ripple effect...

Thanks for the fast response. I am not well versed in the fiances of that country but I did find this:

Which while the specifics differ I imagine the core principle is the same as in the United States: If you can get a card through a bank you can possibly get if for free: A card with no bank ties will charge you a fee one way or another.

I'd like to pay/donate USD $15/- but kickstarter doesn't seem to allow Paypal. Is it possible to arrange for some kind of payment on arcengames.com instead of kickstarter?

Some kind of payment option with Paypal here, where; if the kickstarter doesn't go through, I could be granted another Arcen game for my steam account instead?

General procedure is that Paypal/outside-Kickstarter-backing is only kosher after the Kickstarter hits its goal - and it's purely on the creators on whether they want to jump through hoops to accommodate outside-Kickstarter backers anyway.

Arcen has their existing storefront, but they haven't spoken on anything. It's possible - and likely - that their plan is that the plan for people who can't use Kickstarter is for them to just jump in on Steam/elsewhere once it releases. But other way, you're stuck waiting until the Kickstarter funds first.

Paypal always has divided opinions. I am regularly paid by them. Not by choice. But because that is the only choice I have for my side jobs...

I will go against the grain in saying I can understand kick starter not wanting to deal with them. They are both financial companies fighting turf wars. Each jealously want their cut. Both cant have their way...

I do find it a shame that arcen suffers for this. But that is business.

Not something I want to see - hence the proposal to pay here (on arcengames.com) under the assurance that I'm either funding the kickstarter (if it succeeds) or I'll get a legitimate copy of one of Arcen's other games.

I hate to say this but a wait and see approach might be best.  I don't know how this is going to end up for folks wanting paypal options.
