Interplanetary Guns!

Hell yes.  If I could afford to I would raise my pledge.  C'mon, c'mon...  ~crossing fingers~

I played Sins of a Solar Empire pretty much just for the interplanetary cannons.  I have some very fond memories of those things.  Even if they work like Sins where the bullets travel slowly and give the AI time to evacuate, I will still be stoked.

...Really want a Longgunner of the Apocalypse-style weapon that targets specific structures on a distant planet, though...  ~wonders if anyone will get that reference~  ~related: headcanon name for the Very Large Ion Cannon Array is def going to be the Very Dangerous Array~

I was actually thinking of one of the planets slowly getting larger in the background of one of these videos…until you realize, it's the planet cracker! Another planet hurtling through space and time on a collision course for Murdoch. Good. Lord.

I don't know what the mod engine is going to turn out like, but there are so much AI war stories yet to be told.

Me too. In fact, I want to try to mod the Kostura Cannon in, if we can add more of these. Opening up a temporary warp lane to another planet? Sweeeeeeeet!

A controlled-wormhole superweapon has always been high on my AI War wishlist - it's just such a cool concept.  The mobile planets in classic were close to that, but not quite what I was looking for.  Really hoping the mod support is good enough that such a thing could be added.  :)

That could be so awesome if done right. Could fit right on with the mechanics, just like in SoaSE.

I kind of want to see a sort of super powerful beam cannon capable of destroying any planet it is aimed at in addition to everything on the planet, even if it is an AI homeworld, though of course the AI would have a completely crazy response to that and it would take a very long time to charge up before firing.

Been holding out the entire time at a lower tier, but we're so close to this one at the last minute, so up goes the credit card. Don't tell my wife, she's immune to Ion Cannons. ;)
