So I just got handed a new task...
Cinth, I'd like for you to help out with finding a suitable font for us, if you can.
So unless you want something like this, toss in your suggestions!

Ummmm....
A header font and a body font would be good.
-
Times New Roman
:D
I'm happy this is a thing, btw. Each year as my monitor resolution gets greater and my eyesight gets weaker, Arcen games become more difficult to read. 8)

Clearly the AI should only talk to you in Monotype Corsiva, because the AI has become refined and elegant compared to the barbaric meatbags. :D
-
Comic Sans is always a winner.
-
The fonts are to be used in the game (a point of clarification). Think about tool tips and such.
I'd like more serious suggestions. :)
-
The title font could be some serif font. And about choosing the best font, it is always possible to put several good fonts in the game and let the user to choose.
-
I think the AI is sufficiently advances in the game, it should only communicate with the player using emoji. >D
-
I've always been a fan of Times New Roman, but I don't know how it would look in game.

Was actually my first suggestion :)
We've got something in place and should show up on the KS screens soon (my guess).

Hint, I don't know fonts at all. I'm not the one to ask :)
How about you let the user choose his font in the settings? That would satisfy anyone, except him over there that thinks you don't deserve a choice.

Something like that is beyond the scope of what I can do (I'm just asking for input!).

I strongly doubt that's feasible. Different fonts have different letter widths and spacing, which would make designing a UI way more complex than it needs to be.

Assuming that the tool tips will be more or less the same as AIC I highly recommend going with a sans-serif font for the actual descriptions, something like Helvetica, Century Gothic, or if you want something with a little more weight to it Franklin Gothic Medium.
As much as I love Times News Roman, the serif on it and others makes them quite hard to read from a computer screen for blocks of text. They'd make a good title or heading font, but I'd leave the actual descriptions as something else.
I'm a simple man of simple tastes: (note: I took these stats from a super old screenshot... it was all I had around at work, heh)
Option 1 (Times New Roman 12pt Header, Centrury Gothic 10pt Body)

Option 2 (Franklin Gothic Medium 12pt Header, Centrury Gothic 10pt Body)

as much as I'd love for things to be at 12pt so I could read them, I think that might be too big for a game though, you'd run out of real estate too quickly. Realistically it would probably be like 8pt fonts
