I have to say, your kickstarter page looks really nice now!
Kudos for ghe givs and the nice new video front image.

It shows that a lot of work went into the kickstarter.

Just a question: was there a notification mail (about the kickstarter) sent to all people being part of this forum?
I ask since I never received anything, and this was something I expected.

I never received one either, it said in one of the updates for the kickstarter that they thought they did but didn't, and so sent it then, but afterwards still no email, maybe they didn't want to send it to backers, but the email address for the account I am backing with has a different email and different name so how would they know?

Then I would really suggest to send an email to everyone who ever made a forum account here!
These are possible people who are interested (or were in the past).
I am sure there are a lot of people not that active anymore.

And you could even ask them about the Headtalker campagne here: https://headtalker.com/campaigns/ai-war-2-kickstarter/
Just say "we can understand if you do not want to participate on kickstarter, but you could help us by signing in for the headstarter!"
I am sure a lot of people would understand it and this could help additionally!

They've already done that.

Yeah i just read about that on the kickstarter, but I still havent gotten any email strange.
(there was also nothing in the spam folder).

So maybe just double check, if all got one. (I got a message from the forum about a PM before, so the email should work).
I am relatively new to the forum, so maybe that was a problem?

Or did you only sent emails to the people on the mailing list?
Since I am only part of the forum not the mailing list. (If so please also send to the forum members alone (and just say "sorry if you get this twice" or something I mean it is understandable if you send it to the email list and the forum. And just explain that it may be received double if being part of both).

You can also change the text a little bit to show some effort to people getting both.

Well, I got the email a few hours ago and I'm not signed up for any special newsletter or anything, so I think every forum member should get one eventually. But keep in mind, large scale email waves like this can often be delayed by several days after being sent, even if only partially.

I believe there were a couple of glitches that prevented the email from actually going out until recently (aka today). I have no insider knowledge of this one, just what I've read on the forum in variou places. There is definitely a bump up in pledges today.

I got mine maybe 5 minutes ago, I already backed so the email is redundant for me, but nice that it got out finally, hopefully they will get enough to succeed in the kickstarter.

I'm not quite sure why sending the email to all forum users didn't work as intended originally, but I pulled everyone who is signed up for notifications (Don't worry, if you opted out of notifications, you didn't get the email (I'm looking at the 22 people who opted out :P)). I also pulled other emails, so we should have hit every one of our customers with at least one email now, unless you opted out of emails, in which case we respected that.

Loooooove the changed to the KS page. Also like the new logo, it is easier to read as AI War II. Huge thumbs up.

The bump was noticeable, but not noteworthy, unfortunately.
That is, the bump took the daily data and went "ooh! I'm an average day!" of ~$5000 rather than the post-initial-surge average of ~$2100.

It definitely helped but wasn't sufficient to get things rolling again.

Wish I could back, but I don't have a credit card.

How come Patreon can do PayPal but Kickstarter can not?

How come Patreon can do PayPal but Kickstarter can not?

Kickstarter probably could handle doing PayPal if they really wanted to, but essentially they aren't because there's no PayPal API for handling tabs. e.g. when you pledge with a CC, you're not billed immediately, but the CC company still treats it like you were (it's effectively future-dated) and Kickstarter can either collect on, or cancel, that payment at the future date (failed charges occur because it isn't a hold on your card, but more like a validation that the card exists: funds will actually get deducted later, and if the card expires or is canceled, or funds stop existing, then the payment fails).  Paypal they'd have to store the info until collection time, then place the charge.

The difference is small enough that they could make the change, they just haven't for some reason.  Likely because Paypal's buyer protection is very strong, and the end-use could go around Kickstarter and the project creator and get a refund for literally any reason ("It said delivery by March, it's now April and I haven't gotten it! Gimme my dollars!")

Chris I think you messed up by sending out those messages en-mass through Steam. You got the link to the kickstarted blacklisted, probably automatically.

Indeed.

Draco18s: [Friend], you know about the AI War 2 kickstarter? If not, you should check it out and spread the word. {LINK REMOVED}

I did not know Steam did that sort of thing.  It's possible it was due to having been a goo.gl link (link shortened) rather than a true domain link.
