Like The Universim did? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crytivogames/the-universim/description
It looks super professional, but most kickstarters don't seem able to do it. Google-fu has given me nothing.
Any help, via prior knowledge or your own google-fu, is much appreciated. We're getting very close now! (Monday)

Errr.
How much control you've got over the page ?
Can you put html directly in it ?
PS: My work has me mostly do java web applications with a strong batch component, so basically I could do a similar effect in html / css part given a few hours.

Yes! I do know how!
On your "edit campaign" page (which is just you looking at your campaign) there are two options hidden in a white bar across the top of the page, at the left.
Click "page theme" then "background image." Upload and voila.

Does this mean the Kickstarter launch is imminent?

WHYYYYYY!!! I don't see it.

We can't put in any raw html (which is probably for the best in terms of safety on kickstarter itself).
Draco, are you referring to this? https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/creator+questions#faq_63061 That seems to be for projects that have already launched or completed or... something? I don't see a way to get at that, anyhow.

It is possible it is only for completed campaigns, I can't tell. All I know is I see it on V!C!'s page when I look at it.

Or rather once the page is live. That's kinda messed up ::)

Only for successfully-funded project. Go... figure... https://www.kickstarter.com/spotlight?ref=faq_creator_editcomplete
-
That's unfortunate... Wonder why they've restricted it that way. I'd think that anything which drives pledges is good for them.
-
That's weird.

Maybe it's an attempt to be more egalitarian in the presentation of campaigns that have not yet funded. Helping the smaller campaigns not look outclassed as much?

...If so, they could have been more laissez faire about it (this coming from one with socialist tendencies). Those things are like book covers, and a lot of people like book covers. ;p
