And with sheer moments after KS finished, AIW 2 is officially funded!! YAY!

Keith, Chris, Blue, Pablo, and all of the other behind the scenes folks. Congrats on successful drive, and we look forward to working and enjoying another great product put out by the team.

DRINKS ALL AROUND!

Congrats! Every dollar counted in the end!

I just hope an influx of new users from the Kickstarter does not ruin our forum.

Honestly, this genre has a pretty high percentage of good folks. So long as we roll out the welcome mat, I think it'll be fine. They did help fund the game after all. :)

It never has. This game attracts nerds, a generally decent population. I would welcome some new contributors on the forum.

Woohoo!  Thanks for the congrats everybody -- and congrats to everyone who has helped make this a reality on your end, too! :D

I agree that there shouldn't be an influx of people who are unpleasant -- we've had worries of that before, when we got attention from various sites and had an influx of people, but it never happened.  I have to say that the frequent commenters on the campaign are incredibly nice and would fit right in here (if they aren't already here under a different name), and there were no backers who commented with anything that was out of character for these forums.

So fingers crossed. :)

Right, time to think what I want to shove in a random corner of an AI datacenter.

On a related subject, when you say thematic planet names, what sort of thing do you consider thematic or non-thematic?

I'm guessing that calling the planet "Mr Leet's Awesome Planet" is likely to get the non-thematic label, while "New Murdoch" is probably a fairly safe thematic, but whereabouts is the dividing line?

What if they were already here under the exact same name long before the kickstarter started?

Those ones were jerks, unfortunately.  ;) :D

I can't really think of a comeback to that one.

Now I'm sad!  I was just kidding with you, I hoped the emoticons would make clear. :)

All good then. :)

In terms of naming things, AI... Ever since I saw that reward level, I've been wanting to inflict an AI called 'backprop' or 'gradient descent' on everyone. Have to figure out what that means in terms of the AI traits and authoring tools though.

Those are both creepy as heck, I love it.

Congrats! Shame it stopped so close but still short of the super weapons, that looked cool.
