Z Bombard Rebalance

These ships are too fragile to things that are good against it (most units)--they cost too much to be this vulnerable.

I am enjoying the high costs for a great ship with long range though, so I prefer that its vulnerabilities be reduced.  It may be valuable to have their shield values increased, too, and have only Fighters/up close ships be effective against the Z Bombard.
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

But they have range of the caliber of a Dreadnought or bigger, so you ought to be able to keep them out of enemy range, even if you have to run interference with other stuff :)

I have yet to use them on offense... but I've had to defend against them, and I do NOT want to see them become harder to destroy.
Time to roll out another ball of death.

I had to observe that ships such as Deflectors destroyed them in little than a few shots, wasting the couple Ks of resources.

I played a co-op game where my partner had z bombards as his special type, and they were quite effective.  In fact, you could argue that they are better than dreadnoughts in some ways because they have such an extreme range (30k if i recall) where dreadnoughts only have ~20k range.

Properly protected inside of a fleet, he had no problems keeping them alive.  However the AI didn't have any deflectors.

I'll leave the discussion here for now--I've done minor testing with them and while it's preliminary, I believe they're appropriate for now.  Apparently, deflectors destroy these in just a few shots, paired with such a long range...
