I can't take it any more. Can someone correct the thread title? It should be You're, not your.

Thanks. I didn't want to be a grammar Nazi and point it out, but it was driving me insane ;D

Test. Does it say Re: You're getting close to 5.0 for this post's title?

EDIT: Yes, finally. Now all future posts in this topic should have corrected titles too.

Considering the new odd issues that have come up (like the supply oddities and the AI "forgetting" to order its units sometimes), and of course the new equation for wave sizes, are you still going to be able to make your Monday goal for 5.0?

Good luck. However, I would rather have a great stable release in two weeks rather than a rushed one this Monday. Do what you gotta do.  ;)

Started up my first solo game last night and been playing today.  Epic 4X speed, no real AI plots except Avenger lots of factions except mining Golem (hate that thing), no Neinzul Hybrids (isn't this game insane enough? ;))  and normal ship caps.  Difficulty 7.3 (Didn't realize they were 7.3 when I started).  Wow, its insane how many times those Mauraders spawn, is that really how many times they should be showing up?  Regardless, the game really feels polished at this point.  No outstanding balance issues and all that fun stuff.  I'd say this game is ready to go, but its desyncs that's the true question.  Fox and I never got a game going.  But hopefully tomorrow.

But wow is this game fun on Epic speed :).  (We normally play on normal)

Can you tell me precisely how often we're talking here? Every 10 minutes? Every hour?

It's an easy and safe tweak to change the frequency, I just want to make sure the existing frequency is actually what's indicated in the code.

Based on my vague recollection, it was about 1 in 3 large battles, regardless of whether it was on my planet or an AI one. Thankfully, they tend to come in small swarms in the beginning of the game.

Can anyone post stats based on more reliable data than me trying to remember my game from a week ago?

I was seeing them crop up a lot.  Like 1 of every 3 battles as Techsy said.  Even on my own planet which was weird.  Its definitely frequent and last I checked they weren't supposed to be that often...or so I thought.  Fortunately they are small at first so they don't hurt me too much..

Redid the count (this time using the built in developer's todo list filter), and it is up to 94. Ouch.  :(

Yea, though very few of those that came in since are of the pre-5.0 sort.

But now you see why a completely empty bug list is not one of our conscious goals: it's impossible, y'all outnumber us by far too much ;)  Hopefully we'll be able to get AI War gradually more bugfree with fixes here and there while the focus of new development is on AVWW.

Which reminds me of one of the most important CS axioms: there are two phases to programming, bugging and debugging.

ROFL. That's great. :D

Anyways, I'm glad the community is actually reporting to you guys. I've seen too many games that could be great but the community is not really communicating with the developers (not even indirectly), and thus the worst complaints rarely get addressed.

Reminds me of a poem my old CS professor had in her room:

"I really hate this darn machine
I wish that they would sell it!
It never does quite what I want,
only what I tell it."

That's the entirety of human-computer interaction described in one sentence ;D

After 5.0 comes out, are you planning to release a maintenance stable version after a week or month to fix some of those easy to fix but annoying bugs?
