If there are low rez versions of background stuff that's in the official package, isn't that just a packaging bug that needs to be fixed, and the "normal rez" versions be included in the next patch?



Note, though I still think that the default intensity needs to come down, the planet images themselves I feel are great (erroneous low rez versions that managed to make their way into the product notwithstanding).

Hmm, the code looks a little conflicted on it, between 80 and 100.

What should it be?

I have it around 60 or something IIRC.

Saw the change in the release notes. Thanks, though too bad about the official pictures in steam and the rest still using the old 100% intensity.

Upon a second look, I think my setting is actually around 65 to 70%, so I wonder if the new default of 60% is too low. Not that it really matters all that much. ;)


Is there some way to get the actual numerical value of my setting of the slider bar?

I just noticed AI War's home page is misleading. It has screenshots with the old planets (which actually looked good and didn't need to be downgraded)





You guys should put this planet on the game page instead. I dare you.

I mean (apparently) there's nothing wrong with that planet so go ahead.

It looks like a hunk of rock.. space is full of big chunks of boring rock. I don't see the problem. Who the hell plays AIWar for the aesthetics anyway? The only issue I see is a couple of planets could do to be a bit higher res... but that could just be down to me playing at 2560x1440.

That image would not put me off this game, and anyone who it does put off would probably not be the target demographic for this game anyway. I'd say reading about AIWar probably sells more copies than looking at screenshots. Heck, my reviews have gotten over 20 people to buy the game and I didn't include a single screenshot.

We'll see, but If I get my way the next expansion will improve the planetary graphical situation.  Including a removal of "Planet Fiber-Problem".

Thank you for at least considering. I bet I'm not the only one who dislikes some of the new planets even though I'm the only one saying out loud.. someone needs to say it. I know I have a big mouth though I only open it if there's a reason to.

Yep, we just compute Actual_Probable_Severity_Of_Issue = Expressed_Severity / Average_Severity_Person_Always_Reports ;)

I prefer the old background graphics in general, though there are some aspects of the newer system that can be an improvement with proper refinement.
