Question about Friendly Dyson Gatling Behavior

If you have friendly Dyson Gatlings patrolling your planets and then something attacks on of your planets, do all of the Gatlings head towards the invading force or do they attack when their patrol route takes them there?

I'm pretty sure dyson gatlings don't pay attention to anything that isn't on their planet right now
