Who the heck is Murdoch?

Planet Murdoch, Murdoch Quadrant, bandit lord Murdoch, and Dread Pirate Murdoch?   

What exactly is the connection between all these, cause this guy really seems to get around?

Murdoch is a vile manipulative overlord who duped Aussies into electing an anti-science imbecile as our leader.  I ALWAYS nuke Murdoch.  Even if it's my homeworld.
