Our Mantis Idea Tracker is where we keep track of all the bugs and feature suggestions and requests for tweaks, if you didn't know.

Even if you did know, you might not be aware of the new voting system that is included there.  Voice your support for (or opposition to) ideas of any sort.  The results show up here, and we'll pay particular attention to stuff at the top and bottom (the bottom for culling, the top for possible quicker implementation or comment): http://www.arcengames.com/mantisbt/plugin.php?page=GaugeSupport/issue_ranking.

To vote, you need an account in Mantis (it's a different login from the forums), and then just click to the issue(s) of your choice.  There's a Issue Community Support section near the bottom, where you can log your feelings.  The various folks who support or oppose an issue are shown there, and it adjust the position accordingly on the overall Vote Tallies screen.  You have unlimited votes.

If this is popular, I think this could be a graceful way to replace the forum-run weekly DLC poll, although some organization of that sort via the forums could also be a good idea.  Or we could just do both, whatever folks want.  At any rate, Mantis voting is here and we're waiting to hear what you guys want.  Rather than bumping old issues that we might not have seen yet, voting for them in this fashion (and getting others to vote as well, possibly) is the best way to get them noticed more.  There's just too much stuff in there already for us to be able to know what people most want if they don't tell us.  So hop to it! ;)

Yea, once we're through with the game-damaging bugs I'm planning to jump on the results from the DLC poll that have been piling up for months, but it may be that for the future the mantis voting will be better.  It's a much less time-intensive way for me to answer the question "what do the players want most?"

And it's something where votes never expire, and players aren't time-limited on what they can express their affection for.  If you like it this month and not many other people do, and then next month a bunch of other people do, your vote still helps that rise to our attention.  So there's the benefit of a certain amount of permanence there.

Still plenty of bugs in the meantime, but even for those it can be helpful as a way for people to tell us what bugs are most important for them to be fixed.  There are enough of them at the moment that that actually has some meaning.

Sweet -- not trying to undermine what you've been doing. But a little more permanent and automated seems like a good thing. :)

Hello to the devs of AI War. I have only very briefly played this game. I bought the bundle, but I have been eyeballing it for quite some time. I noticed that I actually cannot change the number of AI players and that they were always hostile. I would like to be able to have AI allies as well, or even allow me to spectate as mutliple AI Empires fight it out. I am a huge NPC enthusiast. I have been before NPCs even existed as anything other than stationary persons you speak with. I actually do not know how to play thisgame. I'm waitinfg for the bundle to be updated with the steam Vengeance key. I want to know if this game has a decent modding community. Are there any Star Trek mods? I'd like to find a simple way to ease myself into the game without feeling too overwhelmed and preferably without having to spend large amounts of time reading manuals or player guides.

I won't spoil anything, but you do get some AI Allies if you play with the "Fallen Spire" minor faction on. There are smaller AI allies too, like the Human Resistance Fighters and friendly Neinzul enclaves. If you don't want to be overwhelmed, though, Fallen Spire is probably not the way to go for your first game though. 


As far as modding, there are a scarce few texture mods, but nothing big.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

There are some mods. Most of them are altplanetname.txt mods which add custom planet names.

Hm well AI War has a lot of content and stuff to learn and understand so getting into AI War can take a while. But if you like AI War you will learn. You must also want to learn (Of course this applies to everything not just AI War or games in general). This may include reading the Wiki or player guides. Although the Wiki is somewhat out dated and I'm not sure but seems like I'm the only one who has wrote any guides. You can check out my guide for beginner friendly game settings and how to defend yourself against the waves the AIs send.

alright. Well I would still like to strongly recommend the ability to add more ai, friendly and enemy. I apologize as I am not familiar with the lore. I am a huge npc enthusiast as I've said before.

You aren't the only huge NPC enthusiast to come through.  I'm one of them, actually.  And I am working on some ideas to allow better ally-ai stuff (not actually the AI itself acting in an ally role, most likely, but allies that are controlled by the computer rather than by a human player).  But those are really, really, really hard to implement and get right, which is why there isn't more of that in the game.

For now I'd say the Roaming Enclaves faction (specifically the ally units spawned by it over time) are the best in-game example of a computer-controlled ally.  I've seen them hold up forgotten flanks during big AI cross planet attacks and then run desperate goalie-defenses of human homeworlds, etc.

I bought FTL and it's fantastic, now me and my friends are all waiting for AI since it sounds like the best game ever among some of the best games ever

PS I missed by 1 hour the humble bundle or some other with AI wars sale, I could kill myself...

I bought FTL and it's fantastic

I think you mean TLF, FTL is another (pretty good) game. ^..~

Also, the complete pack for AI War is only $16.  That's actually a REALLY good deal, as the base game is 10 and the four bigger expansions are $5 each (two of which I highly recommend: Zenith and Vengence).

Eight players simultaneously. 2 AI. Humanity splitted in more parts after the war, right?
Also, what about singleplayer?
Why no embassy?
