What's going on with my game?

I've got a weird error where 2 of my Champion Modules are pink and messed up:



Also it's giving me this error:

I already tried reinstalling the game from scratch completely.  It didn't fix it.

Can anybody tell me what's going on?

Very odd.  If you look in this directory inside your AIW install:

RuntimeData\Expansions\4\Images\Ships\

Can you tell me whether you see the following directories, and what is in them :

RailClusterModule
RailClusterModuleII

PhotonLanceModule
PhotonLanceModuleII

?

RailClustermodule exists and has a picture of a rail cluster module (just 1 photo).

PhotonLancemodule exists and it has a picture of a photon lance (just 1 photo).

Those other 2 folders don't exist.

I'm not sure what's going on, then, because my steam install has them, and I got it the normal way.

I'll try the installer from our website and see if it's missing them.

Ok, I downloaded the basegame installer and AS installer from http://www.arcengames.com/w/index.php/aiwar-downloads and ran those to create an entirely new installation, and it has both of the folders that you're not seeing.

I suppose it's possible the download was missing some parts in your case.  Where did you get it?

I don't technically own AS on Steam, I bought the key through the beta. Somewhere along the way Steam updated the game but didn't update AS or something - who knows.

When I uninstalled the game through Steam, it didn't uninstall the AS content since it doesn't recognize it.

To be honest I really don't know what happened but I'm going to make sure the whole folder is gone before I try again.

Oh wow, I have to re-enter my game keys and everything?

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

edit:  Okay, the Ancient Shadows installer that I used before was 10MB.  The one linked on the website now is 129MB.  That's quite a difference in size.

How did I get a 10MB installer?

The 10MB was the initial beta installer.  The 129MB one is the one released a little over a week ago, and includes the AS-specific music :)

BTW, if I used the beta 10meg AS installer and have since patched to 6.002, do I need to download the new AS installer to get the new music?

Yep, you've gotta run the full installer to get it.
