Well, thats interesting.
« on: April 19, 2013, 01:07:41 pm »

I can't tell if this is a giant trap or a really compact yet awesome-sounding find. Considering what was playing when i found it (the song that sounds like the robotic escape theme but extended and with a slower startup), I'm leaning towards trap. :)

This is from a clusters-simple 80 planets map.

That is quite an interesting combo (even thematic, with two reclamator fabs and a regen golem to keep reclaimed-stuff-you-can't-build-at-a-space-dock alive).  The ASC on top of that is pretty incredible.

But "Nuclear Eye" = "Ackbarian Trap".

Quick, fleet ball everything in now and take the system. Nothing bad can come of that!

I'd need to run through two ion cannons to get to it though, not counting the one on the planet itself. :P
Everything in that cluster seems to have an ion cannon, and I've looked through half of it so far. Theres a spire starship fab and a cursed golem next door with yet another ion cannon.

a spire starship fab and a cursed golem
With my recent experience with a Spire IV (haven't run into a spire fab yet) I'm not sure which one of those is the more useful.

Clearly I started in the wrong cluster :P
Within-2-3 jumps of trap planet, theres a Factory IV, a youngling vulture fab, and a planetary armor booster. Also moar ion cannons and a bunch of barracks.

Cursed would empty that ASC system in seconds.

You probably couldn't see it over the Internet, but my fingers were reaching longingly towards that screenshot.

10 planet games are fun with 2 7s.

It could have shortened that intel summary by saying "Fabricators: ALL of them".

Just a really minor nitpick, but why do AI FFs show up in the top section?  They seem to just be clutter.  I rarely need to know if a system has them, and even if it does, it is vastly more important WHAT they are covering, which that summary doesn't show.  Even when I do look at a system, FFs stand out extremely well, so I know they are present immediately.

I like them to be shown, because AI FF make a huge difference in the strength of the forces to be sent.

@Keith : Would it be doable to place the "forcefield" (blue bubble) effect on the overview ?
